ALTERNATIVE GIFT FAIR:
Every year the commercial aspects of Christmas ramp up and assault us with pleas to give bigger and better gifts. The Mission Commission would like to remind everyone that Jesus is the real reason for the season and encourage giving gifts that keep that in mind. To that end, we will once again be sponsoring an Alternative Gift Fair. On November 18, we will set up displays from Heifer Project and the Presbyterian Giving Catalog. Please consider honoring your friends and relatives by giving a gift in their name. Nothing says Merry Christmas like a flock of chickens or clean drinking water. We will also partner with the Fair Trade Store in Rockford to offer more tangible gift items that recognize and support the efforts of the producers. We will have Fair Trade coffee and chocolates available along with hand-made craft items. All of these items are sourced in a manner that provides a fair wage to the farmers and artisans that produce them.
If you would like to help the commission set up the fair, meet at the church on Saturday November 17 at 1:00 pm.
