We are First Presbyterian Church Woodstock

Fellowship

Our hearts grow in love for God and each other through fellowship. Wednesday nights during the school year we gather for N.O.W. (Nurture on Wednesdays) dinners. Sundays we gather after the 9:30 service for coffee, juice and treats. We enjoy being together with food, so we gather for the annual church Corn n’ Brat Picnic!

Worship & Prayer

Our worship services are at 9:30 each Sunday. Our rich celebratory worship is enhanced with music by gifted musicians who sing in Voices of Faith choir. The children praise God in song, too, with the Sunday school singers and our Children’s Choir. Special music during Holy Week, on Music Sunday and during the weeks before Christmas fill our hearts. And, we worship in small groups, as families and in prayer. Members of the prayer chain lift concerns and joys to God, and the deacons shepherd their flocks.

Education

Being Presbyterian, we value education, starting with Sunday School for the children. Sunday School begins right after the Children's Sermon, around 9:45 am every Sunday morning. The weeklong vacation Bible school also nurtures the children. Middle school and high school youth and adults also meet each Sunday. That’s not all. There are weekly Bible studies early Wednesday mornings and following N.O.W. dinners as well as seminars for identifying spiritual gifts.

Mission

Led by our dedicated Mission Commission we reach out in love and service to others near and far. As a congregation, we support the Woodstock Food Pantry, Home of the Sparrow, Woodstock Area Community Ministries, Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, Heifer Project International and Presbyterian denominational offerings including One Great Hour of Sharing, Peacemaking and Christmas Joy. We deliver Meals on Wheels and provide meals for the homeless served by Public Action to Deliver (PADS).

Members have raised funds to purchcase and equip a mission trailer and planning to provide repair/restoration services to homeowners. This year, the congregation packed 2,163 boxes for Operation Christmas Child. We participate in the Alternative Gift Fair.
